SOLUTION: To initiate a nation-wide movement for the general population to claim health and wellness, the rising education must be educated and empowered to influence their parents and grandparents. The only sustainable and scalable way to do this is effective education to help individuals form life-long habits using proven interventions. This is how we address the healthcare crisis in America.
Heroic Health is able to accomplish this by using Camp Heroic (www.campheroic.com) which is the world leading kid-driven, game-based life-skills learning platform that doesn’t require a teacher or classroom time and works on the slowest devices out there, starting with the Chromebook (it works for kids in all socioeconomic situations). It has been developed over the past decade working with over 10 million K-6 students and their parents and the business community.
EXECUTION: We start by acknowledging these basic facts:
- The road to health starts long before illness, it all starts in our homes and schools with proper learning of how to live healthy.
- Kids love to play games and will do anything play them.
- Kids also love to share and influence those around them.
- Most people in this country are connected to a child in some way.
- The easiest and most effective time to develop habits and character is before a child turns 13 – this is how we’re able to turn these healthcare trends around.
We leverage these realities as we build out the phase 1 Heroic Diabetes platform in Camp Heroic that is effective, extremely scalable and delivers guaranteed results:
- A virtual open-world campus and community created in the Camp Heroic platform for kids with Type 1 Diabetes,
- A marketing and enrollment system that providers and educators can use to register their underserved patients and track their progress with standardized reports,
- Evidence-based curriculum inspired by the American Diabetes Association’s Standards of Care and reviewed by subject-matter experts on topics that include physiology, nutrition, treatment methods, and mental wellness,
- Social interaction in a safe virtual environment where kids with T1D support each other, set goals, and feel supported by their friends on a daily basis,
- Integration of these skills with the current Top20 critical life-skills in the game, offering a broad educational platform for even the most underserved,
- Promoting dialogue between K-6 students and their parents, grandparents, and siblings that focus on universal principles of health and wellness and the need for establishing healthy habits within the home. When scaled to a national level, this is how a societal movement will occur.
